Constantina is co-leading with Alejandro Andirkó (University of Barcelona, Spain) a project coordinated by Dr. Cedric Boeckx (University of Barcelona, iCREA, Spain) and Dr. Erich D. Jarvis (Rockefeller University, HHMI, USA), where variation on the oxytocin and vasotocin receptors is compared between modern humans, archaic humans (Neanderthals and Denisovans) and non-human primates. In this project, the focus is on the variation sites that have been functionally associated with sociality in modern humans. The study is currently in preparation.
